Joe has been in the Financial Services industry since 1989 and joined MidWestOne in 2013. He holds a BA in Health & Physical Education from Cornell College and a Master’s degree in Athletic Administration from Western Illinois University. Prior to 1989, Joe’s prior life in education was teaching beginning French at the junior high level, coaching football, basketball, and track at various levels along with being an administrator on the high school and college level.
This teaching and coaching experience has served Joe well as he works to provide financial education to his clients. Joe has spent many years helping businesses and employees better understand employee benefits from health, life and disability insurance to qualified retirement plans. Currently Joe’s focus is helping people prepare for a happy and financially successful retirement. He does this by helping them understand better the many aspects of retirement planning including Social Security, Medicare, long term health care, and creating an income that one cannot outlive. This entails addressing two important questions, 1. Do you have enough guaranteed lifetime income to meet at least your basic expenses, and 2. Have you taken as many key retirement risks off the table as possible?
Along with having his Series 6 and 63 Securities Registrations (currently held through LPL Financial) and his Life/Health and Long Term Care Licenses, Joe also carries several professional designations, including Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP), Life Underwriters Training Council Fellow (LUTCF), Certified in Long Term Care (LCTC) and Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC).
