Since 2012, Allan Walz has been delivering great value to clients as a financial advisor with MidWestOne Investment Services; helping them plan ahead for their short term needs and long-term goals. Prior to joining MidWestOne, he served as a financial advisor with US Bancorp Investments in Pella. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication/Public Relations from the University of Northern Iowa in 1996.
Through his strong active listening skills, he is able to customize services to suit the needs of his clients. While earning his degree, Allan participated in track and field where he earned All American honors as a thrower as well as achieving Academic All American status. He continues to share his passion for track & field with young athletes. After the market closes each day, he volunteers his time mentoring the field event athletes on the men’s and women’s track team. He has been the throws coach at Central College since 2009 and has coached numerous Iowa Conference champions and All American performers.
Allan's desire to help others is why he chose to be a financial advisor with MidWestOne Investment Services. He helps his clients plan for retirement, protect the things that are important to them, and helps them understand the differences between the multitude of investment options. There are many parallels between coaching athletes and advising clients. Each is diligently working toward pursuing goals individually. However, both have the potential to benefit from the advice given by a person who is knowledgeable and able to communicate ideas to improve performance.
Outside of coaching, Allan enjoys spending time with his wife, Chris, and chasing around their seven children. He is also actively involved at his local church and has enjoyed serving in many roles, including deacon and children's church teacher. Today, he has a large clientele who seeks him out for advice regarding savings, investing, retirement, and future insurance needs. He is an experienced financial advisor who is working hard to make sure his clients are able to make the most of their money.
